The Riverside Rebels emerged victorious last Saturday in a hard fought game against the Beenleigh Bears at their home ground.
Riverside took to the field seeking to amend their crushing loss to Brisbane Irish with the players focused and determined to step up a notch.
The game started with some tough contention in the forwards with the backs facing off against the Bears formidable centres and scrum half.
Riverside scored first seeing Ryan McLeod cross the line demolishing Beenleigh’s defence with dazzling runs.
Both teams battled out the rest of the second half with Riverside presenting great structure in the forwards as they put Beenleigh on the back foot.
Riverside went on to dominate play in the second half as they kept players centralised to the breakdown seeing Ryan McLeod score again.
Prop Jack Colley went on to score two tries as responding to two of Beenleigh’s as he seized many pick and go opportunities playing a memorable game.
Flyhalf Tim Mitchell also scored as the backs began to spin the ball wide whilst the forwards drove Beenleigh back up the field with their fierce mauling technique.
After exchanging tries throughout the second half the final score ended up 27 – 24 to Riverside with one conversion to Ben Mably and Ryan McLeod awarded well deserving man of the match.
